3:00 p.m. - 4:40 p.m. Doburoku Serving: Shrine grounds, lion dance and folk song dedication: Shrine Bongei-den

Doburoku” is made in the shrine's brewery in late January, when the ground is covered with snow, using a unique technique passed down from generation to generation. At around 3:30 p.m., after the doburoku ceremony, doburoku is transferred from a large sake barrel to a container called a kittate for pouring, and ladies in kappo-gowns serve each guest a cup of doburoku, filling the hall with a mellow aroma. It is said that doburoku has been used for rituals since the Wado period (about 1,300 years ago).
 

"Shirakawa-go(village)" is well known as a World Heritage Site.
The living culture of the village with the symbol of Gassho-house has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage.
Behind the creation of this unique living culture is the rich and harsh natural environment of Shirakawago.
