We are pleased to announce the opening of a new restaurant division, “Gassho restaurant Magoemon.
Magoemon is one of the oldest gassho-style building in Shirakawa-go village, and was built in the late Edo period (1800-1850).
The local cuisine is served in a space with an open hearth with an inseparable Japanese atmosphere (Irori), with each person being served with a Takasokuzen (high leg table).
The cuisine is mainly A5-ranked Hida beef grilled with Hoba miso, using homemade Hoba miso, and other local dishes.
The rice is Koshihikari, home-grown with reduced pesticides.
Beverage and dessert sets are also available.
The house was used for filming as the main character's family home in the 2021 japanese drama 「Beloved」.
