“Regarding Additional Accommodation Reservations for the 40th Light-Up Event (2026)
[2026 Shirakawa-go Light-Up Event Accommodation Reservations (First-Come, First-Served)] ※ Includes Observatory Ticket
The application period for the lottery-based accommodation reservations for the 2026 Shirakawa-go Light-Up Event closed on October 31, and notification emails were sent to successful applicants on November 10.
However, as some guests declined their reservations, we will now accept additional reservations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note that, because reservations will be taken in the order received, we expect heavy access and anticipate that rooms may sell out immediately.
The rooms available for additional booking are listed below.
Please be sure to read the =Important= section at the end of this page.
Please check each inn’s maximum occupancy and whether children are accepted, then make your reservation and complete the credit card payment using the reservation URL listed under each inn’s name.
Your reservation will be confirmed only after the credit card payment is successfully completed. If a payment error occurs, your reservation will not be completed.
Please avoid using mobile carrier email addresses, as emails may not be delivered. Use a PC email address instead.
If the confirmation email does not appear in your inbox, please check your spam folder as it may have been filtered there.
In principle, the inns listed below offer one night with two meals included, though some exceptions apply. Such exceptions are noted beside the inn’s name.
Inns that accept children are marked “Children Accepted.”
Please note that all reservation URLs are available in Japanese only.
If the calendar shows an ✕ or indicates that the reservation page is unavailable, the inn is fully booked.
As reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, bookings will close once all rooms are filled.
Discounts such as regional travel coupons and hometown tax (“Furusato Nozei”) benefits do not apply.
If cancellations occur in the future, additional reservations may be opened on the Shirakawa-go Tourism Association website without prior notice (first-come, first-served).
Please note that we do not accept cancellation waitlists.
※This plan includes admission for the Light-up Event and a viewpoint ticket.
Please receive your admission and viewpoint tickets at your accommodation.
Guests staying in the Hirase Onsen area will receive their tickets at either the Tourist Association office inside the bus terminal or at the Light-up Event parking area.
※Access to the viewpoint is on foot only.
However, for guests who have difficulty walking—such as those with mobility issues, guests with a disability certificate, or pregnant guests—we will prepare a shuttle bus to the viewpoint on the day.
If you require this service, please contact us at luroom@shirakawa-go.gr.jp.
Please note that only one accompanying person is allowed.
※For guests staying in the Hirase Onsen area:
There is a considerable distance between the Light-up Event venue and your accommodation.
Your accommodation has parking, but if you plan to drive to the Light-up venue, you must arrange a Light-up Event parking permit separately (6,000 yen per vehicle).
Information regarding bus and parking arrangements for that day will be provided individually by email in December.
※Further details for the event day will be provided again by email around the end of December.
~Important Notes for Event Participation~
Viewpoint tickets will be handed out at your accommodation (except for guests staying in the Hirase Onsen area).
If your expected arrival time will be later than 5:00 p.m., please be sure to contact your accommodation.
No refunds will be given if you choose not to go up to the viewpoint for personal reasons.
No refunds or discounts will be given in case of bad weather or poor visibility.
If the event is cancelled by the organizer due to unforeseen circumstances,
the viewpoint participation fee will be refunded at your accommodation.
